Indiana's New Smoking Law | effective July 1
Indiana's new statewide smoking ban is now in effect as of July 1, 2012. Smoking is prohibited in most public places and places of employment which includes state-owned vehicles and school buses. There are some exceptions where smoking is permitted. The biggest change affecting businesses is that smoking is prohibited within eight feet of a public entrance to a public place and place of employment. Signs are required to be posted at all public entrances of enclosed public places and places of employment. Signs must read: "State Law Prohibits Smoking Within 8 Feet of this Entrance". Pre-printed signs are available to download and print online. You can also download and read the FAQ regarding the smoking ban.
